If you’ve come across this vacancy and you’re currently blocked off with where you can take your career, you might just be in luck.
It’s rare that you find a new job that is offering a clear route to a board level position. A seat at the table. You’ve understandably got to come in and prove your worth initially though, but who doesn’t?
You’ll be joining a family business. One that is steep in history and appreciative of where they’ve come from but excited to see where that good grounding can take them in the future. They are all about investment, growth and driving forward. You’ve got to be this way inclined to make this work for both of you.
Earning your stripes should be relatively straightforward. You’re very well connected within the world of flexible packaging, after all, it is what you’ve lived and breathed over a considerable amount of time.
The task is to convert that network and contacts into revenue. On the face of it, this is a strategic sales position. You’ll be accountable for aligning the business with it’s target customers & goals, and generating revenue which will then drive the next phase of growth. In reality, you are adjusting your mindset and transition from New Business Development to Board Director.
There will be targets. You’ll need to be a grafter. You’ll love the client interaction, the bringing on board and driving growth and developing your account base. This is about you. What you can channel through the business and how you can position yourself in the first 12 months to then have a seat at the top table.
You’ll be well versed within the flexible packaging industry and hopefully not so focused on one niche. If you are though, that is ok, but you’ll have to be prepared to broaden your horizon. You’ll know this a technical sell so you must know your thing to be considered on this one.
There’s loads more that you’ll want to know. There’s loads more that I can tell you. If this has got your attention and sounds like a good move for you, then I’d welcome the opportunity to talk through. You don’t need to have a CV at this point so don’t let that stop you from getting in touch.
